I think you should follow whatever you’re willing to learn about. If you’re willing to do a deep dive into something it doesn’t matter. It’s hard to make money when you won’t study the market or learn how to.

Kinda true, the big problem with passion projects is that they blind you to reality.
If they’re failing and dragging you under you’d rather take out 10 loans and screw yourself permanently to keep them going, rather than just shut them down and move onto something else.
So a healthy distance between yourself and your project is often a good way for you to look at it objectively and make rational decisions
