Bill Gurley, Jack Altman back startup Pursuit, which helps companies sell to government

Pursuit, a startup founded in 2023, has raised a $22 million seed round led by OpenGov co-founder Mike Rosengarten, with participation from Bill Gurley, Jack Altman, and Sam Hinkie. The company uses AI to continuously crawl public data from roughly 11,000 state, local, and education (SLED) entities — including budgets, contract registers, FOIA records, and RFPs — to help companies identify and win government contracts. Pursuit surfaces the agencies most likely to buy a customer's services within the next year based on budget signals, known issues, and leadership. The company has raised $25.5 million in total funding to date.
