The next release of Deno will include a new HTTP server. It is the fastest JavaScript web server ever built. Deno users have been split on the best level of compatibility with Node. Deno recently passed 4.1m downloads on GitHub with 250k monthly active users. The rate of adoption has continued to increase.

Big Changes Ahead for Deno

With rise of Bun.js, Deno is under pressure to compete on performance! It’s going to be tough, especially there are tons of thing they need to handle for backward compatibility and broader community dependencies that makes changes more difficult than what Bun deals with!
What was interesting for me that there was no mention about Bun in this blog post and just saying: “We know there’s been a lot of chatter recently about runtime speed.” 🤷‍♂️
Nevertheless I am happy to see JavaScript runtimes fighting to get better performance 😁 It was about time 👌

Nowadays, if I want to start a personal/hobby project, should I still go with Node.js or should I switch to Deno.js? What do you suggest and why?
