Cloudflare has launched Cloudflare Mesh, a private networking service designed to replace legacy VPNs and manual tunnels for connecting multi-cloud infrastructure. The product targets the growing challenge of giving AI agents secure, identity-verified access to internal resources like private databases, staging environments, and internal APIs without exposing them to the public internet. Every agent in a Mesh environment carries a distinct identity, enabling granular access policies. The service integrates with Cloudflare Workers, Workers VPC, and the Agents SDK to provide an end-to-end lifecycle for AI agents running across Cloudflare, private datacenters, or other public clouds like AWS and GCP.
