Bcachefs file-system driver introduces the 'rebalance_v2' feature (now called 'bcachefs_metadata_version_reconcile') to its snapshot channel. This enhancement extends rebalancing beyond target and compression options to handle all I/O path options including replicas, checksum types, and erasure coding. The feature automatically checks extent consistency, repairs errors, reacts to device state changes, evacuates data from failed devices, rereplicate degraded data, and now handles metadata in addition to user data.
