Barman 3.18.0 has been released by EnterpriseDB, introducing experimental block-level incremental backups for cloud storage (S3, Azure Blob, GCS) that reduce storage costs and upload times by only sending changed data blocks. A new backup_method=local-to-cloud option brings cloud backup directly into the main Barman CLI, moving toward deprecating the standalone barman-cloud-* scripts. The release also adds a new barman cloud-wal-archive command for WAL archiving to cloud object storage with multiple compression options, LZ4 compression support for cloud backups, S3 addressing style control, a custom restore command option, Python 3.14 compatibility, and a fix for a WAL archiving file handle leak.
