Azure MCP Server is now available as an MCP Bundle (.mcpb), a self-contained packaging format that enables one-click installation into Claude Desktop and other MCP-compatible clients without requiring Node.js, Python, .NET, or Docker. The .mcpb format works like a browser extension — download the file for your platform, drag it into Claude Desktop, and get immediate access to 100+ Azure service tools including Cosmos DB, Key Vault, App Service, Bicep/Terraform template generation, and Azure CLI command generation. Authentication is handled via Azure CLI credentials. The format differs from the VS Code extension (which targets GitHub Copilot users) by focusing on zero-config setup for Claude Desktop users.
