AWS has updated IAM to allow role creation and permission configuration directly within service console workflows, eliminating the need to switch to the IAM console. A new panel appears during relevant tasks, supporting default policies or a simplified statement builder. The feature currently works with EC2, Lambda, EKS, ECS, Glue, CloudFormation, DMS, Systems Manager, Secrets Manager, RDS, and IoT Core in US East (N. Virginia), with broader rollout planned.
