AWS Network Firewall now includes web category-based filtering that enables visibility and control over generative AI application traffic. Security teams can use pre-defined URL categories to identify and restrict access to GenAI services, social media, streaming sites, and other web categories directly in firewall rules. When combined with TLS inspection, the feature provides granular control through full URL path inspection. This capability helps organizations enforce consistent security policies, meet compliance requirements, and reduce operational overhead across AWS environments. The feature is available in all AWS commercial regions where Network Firewall is supported.
