It currently includes three projects: Strands Robots (connecting AI agents to physical hardware like robotic arms using NVIDIA GR00T VLA models), Strands Robots Sim (a physics-based simulation environment for robotics experimentation), and AI Functions (a specification-driven programming approach where developers describe behavior in natural language and a decorator triggers agent-generated code with automatic validation). AWS plans to expand the organization with contributions from multiple Amazon teams, treating it as a testing ground before ideas graduate to the core Strands SDK.
