AWS Lake Formation now supports enhanced cross-account sharing, enabling organizations to share hundreds of thousands of tables across AWS accounts. The update centralizes permissions management for catalogs, databases, and tables in multi-account analytics environments with fine-grained access controls. Cross-account version 5 uses a single AWS Resource Access Manager resource share with wildcard patterns instead of individual resource associations, eliminating previous limits. Existing shares remain functional and all APIs maintain backward compatibility.
