AWS Config now supports a service-linked recorder managed by an AWS service, such as Amazon CloudWatch, to record configuration data on service-specific resources. This feature offers centralized visibility into critical AWS service telemetry configurations and simplifies the management process by being controlled independently from existing AWS Config recorders. The service-linked recorders ensure consistency and prevent configuration drift. This feature is available in multiple regions at no additional cost.
