AWS Batch now supports unmanaged compute environments for Amazon EKS, allowing users to leverage AWS Batch's job orchestration while maintaining full control over their Kubernetes infrastructure. Users can create unmanaged compute environments through the CreateComputeEnvironment API or AWS Batch console by selecting an existing EKS cluster, specifying a Kubernetes namespace, and associating EKS nodes using kubectl labeling. This feature is available in all AWS regions where AWS Batch operates and is particularly useful for batch processing workloads like ML model training, simulations, and analysis that require specific security, compliance, or operational requirements.
