AWS Batch has added two new operational visibility features. First, when describing a compute environment, users can now see the AMI status indicating whether the Batch-provided default AMI is up to date (LATEST) or has an update available (UPDATE_AVAILABLE). Second, AWS Batch now publishes AWS Health Planned Lifecycle Events, providing advance notifications of upcoming changes like AMI deprecations, migration status tracking for affected compute environments, and the ability to automate responses via Amazon EventBridge. Both features are available in all AWS Regions where AWS Batch is supported.
