At this point, it should just be embarrassing if you still haven’t switched away from google - not writing articles about it. The privacy move was 10+ years ago.

Proton is more privacy-absolute (stronger encryption model + Swiss jurisdiction).
While <a href="http://mailbox.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">mailbox.org</a> is more feature-rich and interoperable, but operates in a jurisdiction where lawful interception can be enforced.

I always felt that statements like “I had to draw the line and stop giving Google my data for free” was dishonest and frankly a bit greedy 🫤.
We all know that you don’t give it to them “for free”–right? We all get one or more services in return, and developing and maintaining them is expensive.
Whether or not you are willing to make that transaction or not is another story. I am, for now, but I’m not happy with it, and I’m always on the lookout for an alternative.
