Go is relatively young, as far as programming languages go; it will be 14 years old this November. For comparison, C++, which Go directly competes with in the space of compiled general-purpose programming languages, is 38. Its standard library leaves a bit to be desired, and its ecosystem isn’t as rich as possible.
