The Tiling Shell GNOME Shell extension now supports automatic tiling of newly opened windows based on the currently active layout, tiling them to the vacant tile nearest to the center of the screen. This feature can be toggled on or off in the Preferences dialog and adds to the extension's versatile ways of tiling windows, which include mouse, hotkey, and keyboard-driven methods. The extension is compatible with GNOME 42 or higher on any Linux distribution.
