Gradle has automated most of the manual approval checks for new plugins submitted to the Gradle Plugin Portal. Previously, a Gradle engineer would manually inspect plugin metadata before approving publication, which caused delays and potential human errors. Now, checks such as valid GAV coordinates, domain ownership, description quality, tags, and documentation links are run server-side automatically at publish time. If any check fails, publication is rejected immediately with comprehensive error messages, allowing authors to fix issues quickly. Some checks still require human judgment, but the automation should significantly speed up the approval process for most plugins. A new Troubleshooting Guide has also been added to help authors resolve common issues.
