Canonical's Ubuntu websites and services, including the Snap store, Launchpad, and several ubuntu.com subdomains, have been knocked offline by a sustained, cross-border attack since around 6PM UK time on April 30. Canonical is working to address the issue. Ubuntu APT repositories remain accessible via mirrors, and the OS itself is not compromised. A hacktivist group has reportedly claimed responsibility, though Canonical has not confirmed this. Users can monitor recovery progress at status.canonical.com.
