Not sure why it ended up in the feed. Support and development of this IDE has just been stopped (sadly)

Farewell Atom. You were slow on large projects, and slow with some extensions installed, but you had your uses.
Hats off to the team that worked on this.

I remember when Atom first came out and it was a game changer. Before that, you either used a commercial IDE or something like Sublime Text which just didn’t have the features.
When I came back to coding, it was all about VS Code. Being naturally anti-Microsoft, I went back to Atom and found it hadn’t changed much. Then I realised it hadn’t changed at all. I tried out VS Code, and now can’t imagine using something else.
Microsoft may have won this round, but I’m sure another IDE will come to save us.

when I first started coding I was using atom and I was uncomfortable with vscode due to it’s overwhelming amount of features for me, now I completely use vscode, from what I see in these comments they don’t update atom anymore? That sucks :(
