Just do let you inform, when a function is declared as async, the return value is wrapped into a Promise.
As a consequence, awaiting a request response and sending the response is useless because the response is going to be wrapped into a promise. Since the return value of a request is a promise, you can only return the result of the request and await the response when you need to use it.
