Anecdotally, I think the average age of software engineers in silicon valley will hover around the early to mid-thirties. The average number of days when you produce peak results is gradually getting less. It will depend A LOT on overall health (both physical and mental, sleep quality and probably a dozen other factors.

Are you getting too old for software engineering?

<p>This is a tricky one, I think rather than age, it’s the minute you stop learning. The ability to learn doesn’t diminish as you get older but the ability to learn “quickly” does a little. Never too old I say!</p>
