ARCTIC Cooling has submitted a Linux hardware monitoring (HWMON) driver for their ARCTIC Fan Controller to the Linux kernel mailing list for review. The driver, written in approximately 300 lines of C, enables fan speed reporting and PWM fan speed control for all 10 fan channels using standard Linux HWMON interfaces. Notably, ARCTIC developed the driver themselves rather than leaving it to the open-source community.
