Arch Installer (archinstall) 4.0 has been released with a major UI overhaul, replacing the old curses C library with Textual, a Python TUI framework. The new interface is cleaner and runs as a single persistent async app, preventing UI freezes during background operations. Other additions include firewalld firewall setup during installation, GRUB Unified Kernel Image support, a Btrfs bug fix, and new Galician and Nepali translations with refreshed existing ones. A follow-up 4.1 release has also dropped the NVIDIA proprietary driver option due to nvidia-dkms being removed from Arch repos.
