Machine Zone, known for games like Game of War: Fire Age and Mobile Strike, has seen significant staff reductions and role eliminations, including its CTO and design director. Despite the layoffs, AppLovin is actively recruiting for new positions. Other companies in the gaming industry, such as Freejam and Ubisoft, have also announced significant job cuts in early 2025.
