Apple says no one using Lockdown Mode has been hacked with spyware

Apple confirms that nearly four years after launching Lockdown Mode, no Apple device with the feature enabled has been successfully compromised by mercenary spyware. Amnesty International's security lab corroborates this, stating they have found no evidence of a successful spyware attack on a Lockdown Mode-enabled iPhone. Citizen Lab researchers have documented at least two cases where Lockdown Mode actively blocked attacks from NSO's Pegasus and Predator spyware. Security expert Patrick Wardle describes Lockdown Mode as one of the most aggressive consumer-facing hardening features ever shipped, noting it eliminates entire exploit delivery mechanisms and significantly reduces the remotely reachable attack surface, particularly for zero-click exploit chains.
