Apple has reached the milestone of manufacturing 25% of its iPhones in India, producing approximately 55 million units there in 2025 out of a global total of 220–230 million. The shift was accelerated by U.S.-China tariff uncertainty, with Apple now fulfilling the majority of U.S. demand from India-made devices. India is also growing as a consumer market, with 14 million units shipped there last year and total iPhone sales surpassing $9 billion. Apple is expanding its retail presence and is reportedly in talks to launch Apple Pay in India.
