Asahi Linux has published a new progress report covering recent developments including a new installer release after nearly two years, improved firmware handling from macOS, ambient light sensor support, Bluetooth fixes, and audio improvements. Most notably, Apple M3 SoC support in the downstream Asahi Linux kernel is now approaching the same alpha-quality level as the original M1 launch, with PCIe, MacBook keyboards and trackpads, SMC-based RTC, reboot controller, and NVMe controller now enabled. M3 installation via the Asahi Installer is not yet available but is progressing. This work remains in the downstream kernel and has not yet been upstreamed to mainline Linux.
