Aperture, now in beta, adds the controls teams need for AI agents

Tailscale's Aperture AI proxy tool has reached public beta with new enterprise controls for managing AI agent usage. Key additions include customizable token/spend quotas across multiple LLM providers, pre-request hooks to strip PII before it reaches the LLM, configurable log retention (down to zero), and administrator audit logging. The product is free for individuals and small teams on Personal plans, with enterprise pricing coming at general availability. The announcement is framed around the end of flat-rate AI pricing as agents consume far more tokens than casual chat usage.
