Anthropic has moved Claude Cowork from preview to general availability on all paid Claude plans (Pro, Team, Enterprise). Cowork lets non-developers delegate tasks and workflows to a Claude-based agent, handling end-to-end tasks like working with documents and spreadsheets. The GA launch adds enterprise-focused features including role-based access controls with identity provider integration, granular MCP tool permissions, team budgets, usage analytics, OpenTelemetry support, and a Zoom MCP connector. Anthropic notes that most Cowork usage comes from outside engineering teams, with operations, marketing, finance, and legal being primary users. The launch comes as competition heats up with Microsoft Copilot Cowork, Google Gemini Agent Mode, and OpenAI Operator all targeting the same non-developer workflow automation space.
