Anthropic’s madcap March: 14+ launches, 5 outages, and an accidental Claude Mythos leak

Anthropic had an extraordinarily active March 2026, shipping 14+ major product launches including Claude Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6 with 1M-token context, interactive visualizations, computer use preview, Claude Code on web and mobile, multi-agent code review, and the Claude Partner Network with a $100M commitment. The rapid pace came with a downside: at least five infrastructure outages in the month. A data leak accidentally revealed Claude Mythos (codename Capybara), a next-generation model Anthropic describes as a step change in capability with dramatically higher benchmark scores, particularly in cybersecurity. Meanwhile, the Model Context Protocol hit 97 million monthly SDK downloads, up 4,750% since its November 2025 launch, and is now governed by the Linux Foundation. On the policy front, David Sacks stepped down as Trump's AI czar with no replacement planned.
