<h2>Anthropic acquires Stainless</h2>
<p>Anthropichas acquired Stainless, an SDK and MCP server platform founded in 2022. If you’ve used any official Anthropic SDK, you’ve already used Stainless’s work — the company has been generating all of Anthropic’s SDKs since the earliest days of the Claude API.</p>
<p>Stainless takes an API spec and turns it into idiomatic SDKs across TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, Kotlin, and more. The acquisition is framed around agent connectivity: Anthropic created MCP to let agents connect to external data and tools, and bringing Stainless in-house is meant to push that further by improving both developer experience and MCP server support.</p>
<h2>New enterprise infrastructure: MCP tunnels and self-hosted sandboxes</h2>
<p>Separately, at its Code with Claude developer conference in London, Anthropic announced two new infrastructure features for its Claude Managed Agents platform.</p>
<p><strong>Self-hosted sandboxes</strong> (public beta) let enterprises run agent tool execution on their own infrastructure rather than Anthropic’s. Supported providers include Cloudflare, Daytona, Modal, and Vercel. The agent loop still runs on Anthropic’s side — only the tool execution moves into the customer’s environment, giving teams control over network policies, audit logging, and data residency.</p>
<p><strong>MCP tunnels</strong> (research preview) solve a different problem: how do you let an agent reach an MCP server that lives inside a private network without punching holes in your firewall? The answer here is a lightweight outbound encrypted connection from the private server to Anthropic’s infrastructure. No inbound firewall rules, no public internet exposure.</p>
<p>Neither feature requires changes to existing Managed Agents integrations. Early adopters include Clay, Rogo, and DoorDash.</p>
<p>Taken together, the Stainless acquisition and these two infrastructure features are aimed at the same underlying problem: making it practical to run autonomous agents inside enterprise security perimeters without months of security review.</p>
