The RISE Project is launching free, native RISC-V CI runners for GitHub Actions, available to any open source project. By installing a GitHub App and changing the `runs-on` label to `ubuntu-24.04-riscv`, projects can run CI jobs on real RISC-V hardware (Scaleway EM-RV1 bare-metal servers) without emulation or cross-compilation. Each job runs in an ephemeral Kubernetes pod with Docker-in-Docker support. The platform is fully open source across four repositories and aims to break the chicken-and-egg barrier holding back RISC-V software ecosystem adoption.
