StepSecurity has announced an integration between its Harden-Runner security tool and RunsOn, a self-hosted GitHub Actions runner platform on AWS. Harden-Runner comes preinstalled in RunsOn StepSecurity images, providing out-of-the-box CI/CD security with no manual setup. The integration restricts unauthorized outbound network calls, monitors runtime activity, and offers real-time threat detection. RunsOn itself offers 10x cost savings, 30% faster performance, and unlimited S3-backed caching compared to GitHub-hosted runners. Teams can activate the integration by specifying a StepSecurity image in their GitHub Actions workflow configuration.
