Announcing SkillsJars - Agent Skills on Maven Central

SkillsJars is a new project that packages AI agent skills (a standard introduced by Anthropic in January) into JAR files and publishes them to Maven Central. This allows Java developers to add agent skills as standard versioned Maven/Gradle dependencies, enabling transitive dependencies, security scanning, and easy distribution. A Maven plugin extracts skills from JARs to the file system for use with AI code assistants like Cursor or Claude Code. Spring AI integration is also supported via the Spring AI community's agent utils project, letting custom Spring AI agents load skills directly from the classpath. The project is live at skillsjars.com and supports both AI code assistant workflows and custom agent development.
