AWS has launched EC2 R8a memory-optimized instances powered by 5th Gen AMD EPYC processors with up to 4.5 GHz frequency. These instances deliver 30% higher performance and 19% better price-performance compared to R7a instances, with 45% more memory bandwidth. Built on the AWS Nitro System, R8a instances are designed for memory-intensive workloads like SQL/NoSQL databases, in-memory caches, real-time analytics, and EDA applications. They're available in 12 sizes across US East (N. Virginia, Ohio) and US West (Oregon) regions, with SAP certification and 38% more SAPS than R7a instances.
