Lix 2.95 'Kakigōri' is the sixth major release of the Lix Nix implementation. Key highlights include continued Cap'n'Proto RPC integration to replace the bespoke daemon protocol, progress on extracting Flakes into a plugin architecture, sandboxed build launch speed improvements of up to 80% on Linux, full socket activation for daemons on Linux, new builtins.warn with debugger/abort options, TOML-based remote builder configuration, and multiple Nix language deprecations to reduce footguns. The release also advances Rust integration via a new rust-monocrate component and library unification. Known issues in 2.95.0 affecting dev shells and static builds are fixed in 2.95.1.
