PlanetScale announces support for foreign key constraints, allowing users to use them in their databases without making any changes to their existing applications or data models. The support is currently available in beta on a per-database level for all unsharded databases, with support for sharded databases coming next year. Users can enable foreign key constraints by opting in to the beta on their database settings page. The beta has been tested with popular ORMs and frameworks, but users are encouraged to report any issues they encounter.
