AWS has announced general availability of an express configuration for Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL that enables serverless database creation in seconds with just two clicks. Key features include preconfigured defaults, no VPC requirement (with a new internet access gateway for secure connections), IAM-based passwordless authentication by default, and support for read replicas and automated failover. Aurora PostgreSQL is now available on the AWS Free Tier. The launch also includes integrations with Vercel (including v0 AI tool), Kiro IDE, AWS CloudShell, and multiple SDKs/languages. A single CLI flag `--express-configuration` creates both cluster and instance in one API call.
