Google has announced official Unreal Engine and Godot support for Android XR, alongside two new tools: the Android XR Engine Hub and the Android XR Interaction Framework (AXRIF). The Engine Hub (Windows-only) streams OpenXR extension data from a physical Android XR headset directly to Unity, Unreal, or Godot editors, enabling low-latency iteration without full APK builds. Unreal Engine 5.6.1 support is in developer preview, Godot support (4.6.2+) is available via the Godot OpenXR Vendors plugin 5.1 in partnership with the Godot Foundation and W4 Games, and Unity gets the OpenXR: Android XR 1.13 package for Unity 6.5 Beta with expanded Application SpaceWarp support. AXRIF provides an input toolkit abstracting multimodal interactions including 6DoF controllers, hand tracking, and eye gaze.
