AMD has released ROCm 7.12 as a new tech preview release in the series working toward ROCm 8.0, built on the TheRock modular build system. Key highlights include expanded consumer hardware support: Ryzen AI 400 series, Ryzen 200 series, restored Instinct MI100 support, and official support for Radeon RX 7600 and RX 7700 XE GPUs. Additional changes include Debian 12 support for Instinct hardware, expanded GPU virtualization via KVM SR-IOV for more RHEL releases, expanded GPU partitioning, a new Runfile installer for easier deployment, and updated AI ecosystem support including PyTorch 2.10, JAX 0.8.x, and vLLM 0.16.
