AMD's ROCDXG (librocdxg) library has reached production-ready status, enabling ROCm GPU compute support under Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL2). Released alongside ROCm 7.2.1 and the Adrenalin 26.2.2 Windows 11 driver, the MIT-licensed open-source library supports Radeon RX 9000/7000 series GPUs and Ryzen AI 300/Max APUs. It replaces the older closed-source rocm4wsl approach, offering more flexibility between Windows driver and ROCm release cycles, and is working toward native Windows ROCm support.
