Amazon S3 Lifecycle now automatically pauses expiration and transition actions on objects that have failed replication due to incorrect permissions or configuration. This prevents data loss scenarios where objects might be expired or transitioned before being successfully replicated. The behavior applies globally across 37 AWS Regions. Once replication issues are fixed, S3 Batch Replication can be used to replicate previously failed objects, after which Lifecycle rules will resume processing them normally.
