Amazon Redshift Serverless now automatically preserves datashare permissions when restoring a snapshot to the same namespace. Previously, administrators had to manually re-grant permissions to consumer clusters and recreate consumer databases after every restore. With this update, permissions are maintained automatically as long as they existed both at snapshot time and on the current namespace. Consumer namespace access also remains unchanged post-restore. Additionally, Amazon EventBridge notifications are now sent when datashares are dropped, consumer access is revoked, or public accessibility changes during restore. The feature is available in all AWS Regions supporting Amazon Redshift.
