Amazon Redshift Serverless now enables AI-driven scaling and optimization by default for all new workgroups. The feature uses machine learning to predict compute needs and adjust resources proactively before queries queue. This update also expands support to workloads with a Base RPU range of 8–512 RPU (down from 32–512 RPU), lowering the entry cost. Users can configure price-performance targets via a slider in the AWS Management Console or API, choosing between cost, performance, or a balance. Additional optimizations like automatic materialized views and automatic table design are also applied automatically.
