Amazon has agreed to invest up to $25 billion in Anthropic, with $5 billion immediate and up to $20 billion tied to commercial milestones, bringing total potential Amazon investment to ~$33 billion. In return, Anthropic commits to over $100 billion in AWS cloud spending over the next decade, including use of Amazon's Trainium chip line through Trainium4 and up to 5 gigawatts of compute capacity for Claude models. Anthropic's annualised revenue has reached $30 billion, up from $9 billion at end of 2025. The deal mirrors Amazon's $50 billion investment in OpenAI two months prior and firmly establishes Amazon as Anthropic's primary infrastructure partner, surpassing a separate $5 billion Microsoft deal from November 2025. Anthropic is currently contesting a Department of Defense supply-chain risk designation in court.
