Amazon OpenSearch Service has expanded Cluster Insights to cover all OpenSearch versions (1.0+) and Elasticsearch 6.8+, making proactive cluster health monitoring available to more users. A new Unused Index insight identifies indices with zero search and indexing activity over the past 30 days and recommends migrating them to warm or cold storage tiers to reduce costs. These insights are accessible via the Console, OpenSearch UI, Service Notifications, and Amazon EventBridge at no additional charge.
