AWS launches FSx for Lustre Intelligent-Tiering storage class, offering the lowest-cost and fully elastic Lustre file storage in the cloud. This new storage class provides automatic scaling based on access patterns, eliminates overprovisioning costs, and delivers up to 70% better price-performance than other cloud Lustre solutions. It features automatic tiering between Frequent Access, Infrequent Access, and Archive tiers, with optional SSD read cache for latency-sensitive workloads. The service is optimized for HPC and AI workloads including weather forecasting, seismic imaging, genomic analysis, and autonomous driving training.
