Amazon EMR Serverless now supports job run-level cost allocation, enabling granular billing attribution for individual job runs. Previously limited to application-level cost tracking, users can now assign cost allocation tags to each job run and track costs in AWS Cost Explorer and Cost and Usage Reports by specific job run IDs. This allows for domain-specific cost tracking within a single application, easier benchmarking of individual job runs, and more precise cost optimization efforts. The feature is available in all AWS Regions where EMR Serverless operates, including GovCloud and China regions.
