Amazon ECS Managed Instances now supports Amazon EC2 Capacity Reservations, allowing users to configure capacity providers with a new 'reserved' capacityOptionType alongside existing spot and on-demand options. Three reservation strategies are available: reservations-only for maximum predictability, reservations-first to prefer reserved capacity with on-demand fallback, and reservations-excluded to avoid reservations entirely. Configuration is available via AWS Console, CLI, CloudFormation, or SDKs, and the feature is live in all AWS Regions.
